About Me

Hi there! My name is Jason Dean Spence. Most people call me Dean! I am a 2016 graduate of Ryerson University’s Master of Professional Communication program. Before that I completed a BA in English in 2000, and I have also studied creative writing at Humber College.

I am interested in all things communication, including social media, marketing, public relations, content creation/strategy, organizational storytelling and more. In the blog section of JasonDean.ca, you’ll find posts on green communication design, ethical comms, customer relationship marketing, brand management, et cetera.

Currently, I am an educator in a corporate/clinical setting, teaching staff about crisis and de-escalation techniques.

I consider myself to be an enthusiastic advocate for the complexity, the absurdity and the pervasiveness of communication. Even my past work in front-line hospital nutrition has taught me so much about effective communication. This makes me a great person to provide you with useful and unique insights into the nature of communication.
